The Post Office

landscape painting england snow winter street scene stalybridge

Acrylic on hardboard 8" x 7.5" £65 (please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting

Lots of Post Office buldings have sadly closed down in the UK but the one in our small town has managed to survive. It's a beautiful old building next to the Library (another beautiful old building). If you have ever bought a painting from me, then this is the place from which it was shipped. (But we don't often see it covered in snow!)

Sheila I like how you have given these snow paintings a wonderful sense of place.

Thank you Gerald. I'm lucky to live in a place that inspires me I think!

Hi Sheila,
I love how the trees have been stylized. Fabulous mood.

Take care,

Barbara

Thanks Barbara, trees always give me some pain. I'm not sure I'll ever handle them to my satisfaction.

I thought England was SO beautiful. Everything was old. Even old gas stations were charming, and the skies are HUGE in England. Love these paintings, Sheila.

Hi Mary - yeh, I have heard that before, that Americans think the skies in England are huge. I don't understand why. Is it because the things on the ground have to "push up" so much to make room for each other that they all seem small?
