Lone Tree

(keywords:landscape painting trees fields hills england english)

Oil on hardboard 8" x 8"

There's something strong and independent about a lone tree. It has resisted the buffets and blows of the weather and man's hand with a chain saw. A true survivor!

Hi Sheila,

So warm and poignant. The only downside of loving beauty, is knowing that it's there and worrying about what might happen to it.

Gorgeous painting.

Take care,

Barbara

I love how you made that lone tree the star using great composition methods!

Again this confirms for me how deeply similarly strange we all are. I love lone trees, and that bit of road makes it perfect. Simply wholesome maybe. Oh and painted in a similarly simple and wholesome manner. Yes but youve also managed to sidestep all the transient effects, of making it sentimental, flashy, glossy, slick etc.Love also the hedge on the left foreground, very briefly described but it comes to life in the viewers mind.
