Lone Tree
(keywords:landscape painting trees fields hills england english)
Oil on hardboard 8" x 8"There's something strong and independent about a lone tree. It has resisted the buffets and blows of the weather and man's hand with a chain saw. A true survivor!

always love curving roads and a lone tree to rest under. Beautiful!
Hi Sheila,
So warm and poignant. The only downside of loving beauty, is knowing that it's there and worrying about what might happen to it.
Gorgeous painting.
Take care,
Barbara
Lovely painting Sheila.I especially
like the dark greens and the Sky.
Well done. All the best.
Vic.
Thanks Sheila, Barbara and Vick. Nice of you to leave some feedback and glad you enjoy the work.
I love how you made that lone tree the star using great composition methods!
Janelle, thanks for that. It was a bit of a challenge!
Again this confirms for me how deeply similarly strange we all are. I love lone trees, and that bit of road makes it perfect. Simply wholesome maybe. Oh and painted in a similarly simple and wholesome manner. Yes but youve also managed to sidestep all the transient effects, of making it sentimental, flashy, glossy, slick etc.Love also the hedge on the left foreground, very briefly described but it comes to life in the viewers mind.
Simon you always manage to say interesting things. Thanks very much for the visit and the words.
