Stalybridge Days
This painting has been sold
Oil on hardboard 12" x 32".
This was a commissioned painting for a buyer in Texas. It was interesting to do. I think it's the biggest Stalybridge painting in oils that I have done so far and I really enjoyed it. Not easy to see on the blog though owing to its long, narrow shape. Clicking on it gives you a better view.

that is one fine painting sheila
the composition is so interesting,
the figures are so natural.
you really pulled this one off...any more bigger ones?
Cheers Rob, that's a nice compliment. No, I'm not working on anything bigger at the mo. This one was a commission or I wouldn't have done even this. It posed new challenges though and I wouldn't mind facing up to them again, so who knows.
Congratulations on the sale, and on completing such a large painting! It turned out beautifully.
Thanks Leslie, I enjoyed doing it - must try some more larger pieces.
Just found this painting Sheila. It's superb. I bet your Texan is delighted with it!
Thanks Marjorie - I posted it yesterday as I had to wait till it was completely dry - so fingers crossed they like it!
Amazing....and that sense of 'mystery' is still here, too. Love the figure w/ the bike & the dog!
Crikey, I'm glad you still see a bit of mystery in this one Roxanne.
