this has a very nostalgic about it, and great handling of colour Sheila. and the previous post has such a strong perspective, just pulled me in. good to visit again. r.
Love this, busy places empty are like empty stages , like many fab Hopper paintings you are alluding to something offstage in time, takes you away from the here and now. I think its much more interesting to paint the echo of something than just the bald thing itself, so a busy garage wouldnt be so compelling, you have painted the echo of years and years of busy garage.
Love your work. What I've seen so far is rich, warm, and, agreeing with Rahina, evocative of emotion too. Thank goodness for other bloggers' blog lists or I would not have found you yet!
I just came here from the mists of cyberspace (well, Blogger linked me), but I just wanted to say that that's a very beautiful painting. It must have taken a fair amount of effort.
Thanks folks - really appreciate your comments here. I do like empty and/or closed buildings, shops, worksheds, what have you. Simon, you are spot on there - it is the echo of something which is intriguing rather than the thing itself.

Thanks Rahina, good to see you again. Yes these old streets and buildings do evoke nostalgia. I really love to paint them.
