Thanks Rahina, good to see you again. Yes these old streets and buildings do evoke nostalgia. I really love to paint them.

Love this, busy places empty are like empty stages , like many fab Hopper paintings you are alluding to something offstage in time, takes you away from the here and now. I think its much more interesting to paint the echo of something than just the bald thing itself, so a busy garage wouldnt be so compelling, you have painted the echo of years and years of busy garage.

Thanks folks - really appreciate your comments here. I do like empty and/or closed buildings, shops, worksheds, what have you. Simon, you are spot on there - it is the echo of something which is intriguing rather than the thing itself.
