I really like the balance here between the literal and abstract. The mind wants to recede the scene in space, but the design and surface texture keeps forms resolutely on the picture plane at the same time. The tension between the two is a good thing, I think.
I'm glad you saw so much into it Don. It felt really inspiring whilst I was painting it but later I thought - is this anything at all? Thanks for that.
