Crowden reservoir

Oil on mdf board 16" x 15" Please see my website for availability

This is a bigger painting which I developed from photos and sketches in the studio. The reservoir is the stretch of water you can see in the top left of the painting. The stream coming towards you was very calm that day and the weather was variable. I was interested in the heaviness of the foliage which lined the banks and the shapes the clouds made in the water.

The wild moor

Acrylic on hardboard 8" x 8" £50 or $US100 plus postage & packing

This is a re-work of a painting I did a couple of weeks ago. I have used glazes and scumbling to get the colours richer and deeper but there's a tinge of regret that I have lost a little of the abstract quality of the original (which was called 'A windy day').

Fields near Crowden

Oil on hardboard 8" x 8"

Most of these landscapes are not strictly speaking "Stalybridge" which is a small town nestling in a valley around these hills which are in very close proximity. Crowden has two big reservoirs and some stunning countryside all of which provide some wonderful views.
