Sacred and Profane

This is a little industrial workshop in town which was probably once yet another row of terraced housing, but it struck me that day that it had the feeling and appearance of a church with the light coming through the side of the building there.

Terrific how you have simplified the elements to exactly what is necessary--no fiddling or extraneous distractions. And an almost surreal quality that is compelling...reminiscent a bit of the ominous quality of a de Chirico.

Thanks Don and also thanks for your very thoughtful comments on the subject of style on my other blog. I felt very satisfied painting this one so maybe I should just go with the flow :)
